Light Roasted JARC 74112 & wild varieties (Ethiopian Local Varieties), Farmed by Neighbours & Families in the Keramo Region
200g €17,75 (1kg/ €88,75)
This Ethiopian Coffee is unlike any other coffee from this region. Upon first tasting, we were immediately surprised by its unique flavors and ever-changing profile. This is due in part to Keramo's high altitude location, which allows for a longer maturation period for the red cherries, resulting in a more complex coffee. The Keramo station, located in the Bensa area of Sidama, receives coffee from 381 smallholder farmers who have built a reputation for producing exquisite coffee. In fact, in 2020, Daye Bensa Coffee from this station was awarded a Cup of Excellence. Savor every sip as you experience the distinct character of Keramo's coffee, grown in the midst of a rich vegetation and favourable climate.
Variety
Variety
The Variety JARC 74112, is one of the varieties developed by Jimma Agricultural Research Center (JARC). This variety was selected from trees in the Metu-Bishari forest. It was selected for its resistance to coffee berry disease and its high yield potential.
Unfortunately We do not have records from the other varieties, since Ethiopia still have many wild varieties with not registration or study behind them. Therefore is hard to track all of them, but this fact makes Ethiopia been one of it's kind when it comes to coffee.
